Aside from the film crew in town on Wednesday, you might have noticed a heavy presence of law enforcement personnel around Idyllwild. Groups of patrol cars (CHP, Sheriff, unmarked) were seen along Pine Crest, in various locales around town, at Lake Hemet- two Sheriff’s vehicles were seen posted on Hwy 74 at the bottom of the hill in Palm Desert.
Apparently, there was a large area-wide crime sweep by several agencies targeting Idyllwild, Pine Cove, Mountain Center, and Anza. Here’s a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department about the event:
